Abstract
The nomenclatural history of Nepa fusca Linnaeus, 1758 is reviewed. Us ages by other authors of the name Nepa fusca are also reviewed, some o f which refer to different species, and occasionally to Belostomatidae . The synonymy of Nepa fusca Linnaeus, 1758 and Laccotrephes brachiali s Gerstaecker, 1873 is established (New Synonymy).
