Abstract
The taxonomy of Kickxia elatine (L.) Dumort in Slovakia is discussed. Following a comparative morphologic and chorologic study of the popula tions of this species in Europe it was concluded that only one subspec ies occurs in Slovakia, namely Kickxia elatine (L.) Dumort. subsp. ela tine. The occurrence of the stenomediterranean subspecies K. elatine s ubsp. crinita (Mabille) Grueter in Slovakia was not confirmed.
