Abstract
The paper describes the formulation and verification of a generic SPIC E macromodel for series-resonant convertor circuits. The model is deri ved from the averaged time-invariant state-space equations that arise from a piecewise sinusoidal approximation and its frequency domain tra nsformation. The single macromodel so derived allows the entire conver tor to be included with its control circuitry and load with little (co mputational) overhead. AC, DC and transient analyses can be carried ou t in the normal-manner, in a fraction of the time required to model th e entire system at component level. Simulation results based on this m odel have been compared with full simulations, and the results found t o be in excellent agreement.
