Abstract
We present model problems for scattering in one dimension described by a pair of coupled differential equations with asymptotic boundary con ditions at +/-infinity. We demonstrate how the scattering matrices can be constructed from the scattering matrices of previously-solved sing le potential barrier problems. The coupled differential equations of t he model problems are useful in testing numerical software.
