Abstract
The feasibility of synthesizing silicon nitride-silicon carbide-titani um carbonitride composites by combustion reactions is demonstrated. Wi th titanium carbonitride taken to be an ideal solid solution, its comp osition is determined as TiC0.36N0.64 . Thermodynamic analysis support s the experimental results.
