Abstract
Nine sets of data on solid-liquid equilibrium (SLE) for 1-alkanol (1) + n-alkane (2) systems are examined. The experimental results are corr elated using Redlich-Kister, Wilson, UNIQUAC, NRTL, NRTLMKT and NRTLmK W equations. The best correlation of the solubility data is obtained b y the use of the NRTLMKT and NRTLmKW equations which take into account the temperature dependence of the association constant K. These model s are also able to predict precisely the experimental eutectic points. Excess Gibbs energies along the saturated lines are calculated for al l systems investigated. Correlation of two solubility branches is pres ented and fully discussed.
