Abstract
A fluctuation method is presented for analysis of the time-averaged en ergy fluxes and the energy transformations in an active magnetic regen erator (AMR) used in magnetic refrigeration at room temperature. The f luctuation method has been used to analyse the basic equations of the AMR, the solutions for the temperature distribution have been obtained and, from these, the energy-temperature equations were deduced for nu merical resolution. A set of parameters to evaluate regenerator perfor mance and effectiveness is proposed.
