C15H22N2O2 has been studied by X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in o
rthorhombic system in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) With Z = 4 and unit ce
ll dimensions: a = 7.320(1), b = 8.602(2), c = 22.570(5) Angstrom. The
structure was refined to an R = 0.054 and R(w) = 0.067 for 956 observ
ed structure amplitudes. The two quinolizidine systems have quasi-tran
s and quasi-ris configurations. The piperidine (A, B, C, D) rings of t
he molecule have half-chair, chair, sofa and chair conformations, resp
ectively.
