K. Chaudhury et al., AN ANALYSIS OF 5-(P-HYDROXYPHENYL)-5-PHENYLHYDANTOIN INDUCED PERTURBATIONS IN THE 200-400NM REGION, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 39(9), 1994, pp. 1091-1098
It is shown that the presence of phenytoin, an anticonvulsant drug, in
the human serum (HS) leads to perturbation of its UV absorption spect
ra. The relations between the absorption spectra near 230 and 280 nm a
nd hydrogen bond formation were considered. Spectral, phenytoin induce
d changes, have been accounted for on the basis of Van der Waal's inte
raction and Franck-Condon's strain.
