A morphologically based imaging review of intracranial tuberculosis in
childhood is presented. The computed tomography and magnetic resonanc
e features of parenchymal tuberculoma, tuberculous meningitis and meni
ngeal/meniningocerebral tuberculoma are illustrated. Recent insight in
to the nature of tuberculoma necrosis and its magnetic resonance corre
lation is reviewed. Pathogenesis, relevant clinical background and the
role of modern imaging is discussed.
