This paper describes the application of ''equivalent charge distributi
on method'' for designing the geometry of a special type of dipole ant
enna used for faithful reproduction of electromagnetic pulse type of w
aveform. Using this method, the design equation of the surfaces of asy
mptotic conical dipole antenna (ACD) has been derived. The surface of
asymptotic conical dipole antenna, obtained by this method, is compare
d with those computed by the method of Baum. The response of an ACD an
tenna, fabricated using design data computed from the design equations
derived in this paper, is measured and presented.
