Y. Muto et al., STUDIES ON ANTIULCER AGENTS .3. SYNTHESIS AND ANTIULCER ACTIVITY OF PHENYLPROPANOL DERIVATIVES, Yakugaku zasshi, 115(4), 1995, pp. 307-317
It was found that (+/-)ethyl (3-hydroxypropyl)-4-oxocyclohexylidene]-p
ropionate (1), (+/-)ethyl 2-(3-hydroxypropyl)-4,5-dimethoxyphenyl]prop
ionate (2) and -(3-hydroxypropyl)-4,5-dimethoxyphenyl]-2-butanone (3)
had excellent antiulcer activities. In order to study structure-activi
ty relationships, (+/-)2-[(3-hydroxypropyl)phenyl] cyclopentanone deri
vatives (4, 5) and (+/-)2-[(3-hydroxypropyl)phenyl]cyclopentanol deriv
atives (6, 7) were synthesized and tested for antiulcer activities. As
a result, oxypropyl)-4-methoxy-5-(2-piperidinoethoxy)phenyl] cyclopen
tanone (5k) exhibited potent antiulcer activities.
