Abstract
Haemophagocytic syndrome is a heterogenous disease characterized by di sordered macrophage activation associated with viral, bacterial or par asitic infection. The few reports of haemophagocytosis occurring in th e presence of mycobacterial infection show a high mortality rate and w e present two further cases notable for their favourable issue. Rapidi ty of diagnosis and immediate treatment could explain the avoidance of a fatal outcome.
