Abstract
Adhesive surf ace structures, fimbriae or pili, outer membrane protein s (OMP), A- and S-layer called components, respectively, are considere d as preconditions for the adherence of bacteria on intestinal epithel ial cells, The formation of such structures can be influenced by sever al factors, In our investigations the influence of the cultur medium ( food resp. food like media) on the formation of microbial adhesins was studied. Evidence of adhesive structures was given by the hemagglutin ation test with erythrocytes of different human blood groups and of gu inea pigs. Several Salmonella-, E. coli and Aeromonas-strains were use d for the examinations. After incubation in the various media they wer e able to hemagglutinate in a different extent.
