Layered square-lattice ferromagnetic Ising models (infinity x infinity
x n lattices) are studied by the Monte Carlo simulation for n = 3 to
9. The results show the dimensionality crossover from the two-dimensio
nal square lattice Ising model to the three-dimensional simple cubic I
sing model. The shift exponent lambda is estimated to be lambda = 1.64
, which is consistent with the genral expectation that lambda = 1/V-3d
Furthermore, CAM analysis is performed to evaluate the critical expon
ent gamma of the three-dimensional simple cubic ferromagnetic Ising mo
del, which shows that gamma = 1.21(4). The present analysis is also ap
plicable to the study of the phase transition of quantum spin systems.
