Abstract
The phase transition occurring in the three-state Ports model on the t riangular lattice with two- and three-spin interactions is studied usi ng Monte Carlo simulations and exact calculations. A tricritical point is found to exist on the self-dual trajectory, and extensive simulati ons lead to a conjectured location of this point.
