Ov. Goncharova et al., HIGH-PERCENTAGE NICKEL-ALUMINA CATALYSTS FOR METHANE DECOMPOSITION .1. FORMATION OF THE PHASE-STRUCTURE OF THE ACTIVE COMPONENT, Kinetics and catalysis, 36(2), 1995, pp. 268-272
The composition and phase structure of high-percentage (>50 wt % Ni) n
ickel-alumina catalysts for methane decomposition at 550 degrees C was
studied. The main stages of catalyst preparation (precipitation, dryi
ng, thermal decomposition, reduction) are analyzed. The dependence bet
ween the extent of catalyst coking and the alumina content was found t
o exhibit a maximum at similar to 10 wt % Al2O3.
