Abstract
Analytical expressions are obtained for determining the effective widt h of the search zone of stationary targets by means of synthetic-apert ure radars, taking into account the random character of the radar dete ction process; it is shown that in most cases the size of the search z one is smaller than the width of the scanning zone.
