Abstract
The acute myelogenous leukemias (AMLs) are a heterogeneous group of di sorders with diverse morphologic, histochemical, and antigenic charact eristics. In this article, we discuss the heterogeneous nature of AML with regard to its cellular level of origin, cell surface antigen expr ession, and hematopoietic growth factor responsiveness.
