Pk. Swamee et Csp. Ojha, PUMPING-TEST ANALYSIS OF WELLS HAVING STORAGE CONTRIBUTION, Journal of irrigation and drainage engineering, 121(3), 1995, pp. 265-267
In general, pumping tests are performed in borewells as well as in dug
wells. Depending on the radius of the pumping well, the storage effec
ts influence the aquifer parameter estimation. To account for the stor
age effects, it is necessary to use the models that include the well-s
torage effects. However, the models that account for the storage effec
ts require graphical solutions that are subjective. Presented here are
highly accurate algebraic forms of the well functions that include st
orage effects. These forms render their use amenable to error-based op
timization algorithms for the estimation of aquifer parameters. The po
tential of these models was compared with the 1935 Theis model, which
does not allow for storage effects.
