Abstract
The Azores front location and structure are described based on the res ults of measurements in the Azores front region (AR-11 WOCE) made by t he research vessel ''Professor Shtockman'' (31-st cruise) by means of CTD surveys and moorings. The velocities and volume transports of the barotropic and baroclinic Azores current components were determined. M esoscale disturbances in the active upper layer were described based o n towed ''yo-yo'' CTD data. They are considered as frontal subduction processes manifestation.
