The INDUS-1 synchrotron radiation (SR) source is a 450 MeV electron st
orage ring designed for the production of VUV radiation. Its injector
system consists of a microtron and a synchrotron. This paper covers br
iefly the design features of the storage ring INDUS-1 and its injector
system. The development of these accelerators is in a highly advanced
stage. The microtron has been commissioned and is used to provide a 2
0 MeV electron beam for injection into the synchrotron which is presen
tly being commissioned. As regards the storage ring INDUS-1, all of it
s components are ready and the ring is being assembled.
