Va. Pustovarov et al., TIME-RESOLVED LUMINESCENCE OF SCINTILLATION CRYSTALS UNDER EXCITATIONBY HIGH-INTENSITY SYNCHROTRON-RADIATION, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 359(1-2), 1995, pp. 336-338
The spectral and kinetic parameters of radiation-stability scintillato
rs based on alkali-earth oxides and fluorides (pure and doped Ce3+-ion
s) and some alkaline halides under high intensity X-ray synchrotron ra
diation of the VEPP-3 storage ring are studied. A strong decrease of t
he decay time and the luminescence quantum yield and a change of the s
pectrum under high intensity SR are observed. The effects have a commo
n nature for all crystals and are connected with an increase of the no
n-radiative energy transfer efficiency from the lower excited states o
f the luminescence center under high intensity of the excitation.
