Av. Kozhevnikov et Af. Medvedev, ON SOME PROBLEMS OF THE USE OF UNDULATOR RADIATION IN METROLOGY, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 359(1-2), 1995, pp. 422-426
The perspectives of the application of undulator radiation (UR) for me
trological measurements, and, in particular, for monitoring of proton
beams in colliders are considered. The basic measurement errors on UR,
connected with the transverse gradient of the magnetic field in the u
ndulator gap, were determined. The measurement technique, based on an
undulator with the application of adjustment of the phase state (UAPS)
, allowing one to cancel errors caused by the gradients of the magneti
c field, is worked out. Estimations of measurement errors caused by th
e inaccuracy of the geometrical phase installation are presented.
