Abstract
Specific features of molecular mass distribution were analyzed by solv ing numerically a system of differential equations which described the kinetics of linear condensation polymerization with the effect of sub stitution in the first sphere in terms of bond blocks. It was found th at, at a certain ratio between kinetic constants, the MMD was describe d by an ''oscillating'' pattern, for which the concentrations of chain s composed of even and odd number of units (with identical or differen t end groups in the case of copolymers) were significantly different. The region where such behavior was observed was identified.
