NEW QUANTITATIVE-DETERMINATION OF BETA-DI KETONES BY NORMAL OR DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY WITH USE OF 2,3-DIAMINONAPHTHALENE AS REAGENT OF DERIVATIZATION
M. Mariaud et al., NEW QUANTITATIVE-DETERMINATION OF BETA-DI KETONES BY NORMAL OR DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY WITH USE OF 2,3-DIAMINONAPHTHALENE AS REAGENT OF DERIVATIZATION, Analusis, 23(2), 1995, pp. 87-90
New quantitative determination of beta-diketones is described. 2,3-dia
minonaphtalene reacts with beta-diketones to yield 2,3-b naphto 1,5-di
azepinium salts which possess high absorbance near 310 nm. Absorbance
of 2,3-diaminonaphtalene excess is suppressed by use of a derivative s
pectrophotometric procedure (zero-crossing point method). The calibrat
ion graphs are linear in the concentration range 2-30 mumol l-1. Limit
s of detection are in the order of 0.8 mumol l-1.
