Abstract
New quantitative determination of beta-diketones is described. 2,3-dia minonaphtalene reacts with beta-diketones to yield 2,3-b naphto 1,5-di azepinium salts which possess high absorbance near 310 nm. Absorbance of 2,3-diaminonaphtalene excess is suppressed by use of a derivative s pectrophotometric procedure (zero-crossing point method). The calibrat ion graphs are linear in the concentration range 2-30 mumol l-1. Limit s of detection are in the order of 0.8 mumol l-1.
