Abstract
Room temperature absorption measurements were performed in the far-inf rared region on low-density He-Xe mixtures. The complete spectral shap e of the binary absorption coefficient A(v) has been determined with g ood accuracy. Detailed line-shape analysis of the translational band y ielded reliable values of the spectral moments gamma0, gamma2, and gam ma4. Through a spectral moment analysis, we determine the range rho an d the intensity mu0 of the dipole moment induced in the He-Xe pair.
