Fr. Zaydelman et Iv. Kovalev, ECOLOGICAL-HYDROLOGICAL EVALUATION OF LIGHT GRAY GLEYED SOILS DRAINEDBY TRENCH AND NON-TRENCH DRAINAGE, Eurasian soil science, 26(11), 1994, pp. 87-100
The features of the water regime of Light Gray Forest soils with diffe
rent degrees of gleying in years of different moisture are examined. A
two-stage perched water table forms in the profile of Gleyey soils in
spring and autumn. This causes a decline in the yield of crops or the
ir death. It is shown that drainage eliminates the perched water table
. Ceramic trench and plastic non-trench drainage have similar agroecol
ogical and hydrological influence on the examined soils.
