Abstract
The effect of different methods for determining the substrate-induced respiration (SIR) on its value has been assessed, and the technique of its determination for ecological monitoring purposes has been propose d. The maximum effect on SIR was observed in case of the incubated sam ple rotation (the relative contribution into the dispersion value equa ls 55 percent), then the soil/air ratio followed (25 percent) and cond itions of sample storage and pre-incubation (16 percent).
