Abstract
The authors describe a case of percutaneous extraction of a piece of s ilicone-coated catheter, 5 years after its embolisation in the pulmona ry artery and the results of electronic microscopic study of the speci men. The discussion provides the factors indicating extraction which i s relatively easy with this technique irrespective of the chronicity o f embolisation, in order to avoid infectious complications.
