Abstract
The work of Russian pedologists on melioration of soils polluted by he avy metals, radionuclides, pesticides, oil products, and other toxic s ubstances is briefly summarized. The management of arable soils with e xcessive concentrations of nutritional elements and recultivation of i ndustrially disturbed lands are also discussed.
