DIODE-LASER MEASUREMENTS OF N-2-BROADENING COEFFICIENTS IN THE NU(3) BAND OF CH3D

N-2,-broadening coefficients have been measured for 33 lines of (CH3D) -C-12 in the P-Q and (Q)R branches of the v(3) band, using a tunable d iode-laser spectrometer. The collisional widths obtained by fitting Ra utian profiles to the measured shapes of the lines are significantly l arger than those derived from Voigt profiles. Semiclassical calculatio ns of the broadening coefficients have shown the importance of the non electrostatic contributions in the anisotropic intermolecular potentia l. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
