Diblock copolymers lyphenylvinylsulfoxide-b-polyglycidylmethacrylate,
as well as triblock -polyphenylvinylsulfoxide-b-polymethylmethacrylate
have been synthesized using the ''living'' character of the polymeriz
ation of phenylvinylsulfoxide. The polyphenylvinylsulfoxide sequence w
as further converted to polyacetylene by thermal treatment under vacuu
m. These copolymers are soluble in common organic solvents where they
strongly aggregate.
