Abstract
Catalytic hydrogenation (Pd.C) of 2-(2-benzylaminoethyl)-3-cyanomethyl indoles gave hexahydroazepino[4,5-b]indoles in good yields. 2-(2-Benz ylaminoethyl)-3 cyanoethyl indoles were cyclized to hexahydroazocino[4 ,5-b]indoles under identical conditions.
