Abstract
This work is a study of the effect of Soybeans (Glycine max)-yellow va riety-feeding on serum total lipids, triglycerides, free and esterifie d cholesterol. Control and Diet I and II guinea pigs were fed on the p ellets, pellets + sprouted soybeans and sprouted soybeans alone, respe ctively, for four weeks. Feeding the animals on soybeans significantly reduced the level of serum free, esterified and total cholesterol. Th ere was significant negative correlation between levels of cholesterol , lipids, triglycerides on the one hand and the corresponding weight g ains of the guinea pigs fed on soybeans and pellets on the other.
