Ho. Sivritepe et Am. Dourado, THE EFFECT OF SEED MOISTURE-CONTENT AND VIABILITY ON THE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF PEA-SEEDS TO SOAKING INJURY, Scientia horticulturae, 61(3-4), 1995, pp. 185-191
Soaking injury is a common problem in dry seeds because of the rapid u
ptake of water. The effects of initial seed moisture content and viabi
lity on the susceptibility of pea seeds to soaking injury were investi
gated. Aged pea seeds lost viability more rapidly during soaking in wa
ter than non-aged seeds at both high and low initial seed moisture con
tent.
