The cleaning of ionization chamber bodies used for room temperature li
quids by means of glow discharge is described. The cleaning procedure
and results on surface purity as well as on long-term stability of the
ionization chamber signal are presented. The final outgassing is inte
rpreted as a desorption from a surface layer by diffusion.
