Abstract
A numerical technique is presented that makes use of the finite-elemen t method for the analysis of the scattering from perfectly conducting cylinders with cavity-backed apertures. The method of solution, based on an application of the equivalence principle, is very flexible and c an be easily extended to analyze cases in which the cylinder is insert ed into a complex environment.
