S. Spektor et al., INTRACRANIAL HEMORRHAGE FROM A MENINGIOMA IN A PATIENT RECEIVING ASPIRIN PROPHYLAXIS - A CASE-REPORT, Acta neurochirurgica, 134(1-2), 1995, pp. 51-53
A case of acute subdural haematoma originating spontaneously from an a
ngiomatous meningioma in a patient receiving prophylactic aspirin ther
apy is presented. To the best of our knowledge no comparable case and
no discussion of possible complications of aspirin prophylaxis in pati
ents with brain tumours have been published. Possible reasons and clin
ical significance of this complication are discussed. This observation
questions the suitability of aspirin as prophylaxis for vascular dise
ase in patients with meningiomas.
