H. Tanka et T. Sakurai, STUDY OF AN OPERATIONAL INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS APPLICATION TO POWER-SYSTEMS, International journal of engineering intelligent systems for electrical engineering and communications, 3(1), 1995, pp. 17-23
This paper describes the current status of intelligent system applicat
ions within Tokyo Electric Power to power systems. It also details a w
ay of developing Intelligent systems. These systems are expected to be
a new methodology for solving difficult judgments where hardware limi
ts on the power system become more strict for the various constraints.
To deal with this circumstance, various technologies called 'intellig
ent' are researched and applied to the power system area. Rule-based,
machine learning, neural networks, fuzzy and genetic algorithms are in
troduced as major technologies. In the stage of development, it is ess
ential to make clear what is to be solved. Two case studies namely, lo
ad forecasting and facility monitoring are introduced as examples of d
evelopment. The model of cooperation between utility and manufacturer
is also explained.
