Abstract
A new parabolic equation (PE) incorporating a simple terrain following transformation is derived which allows a range dependent solution for the field from a point or line radiator. Predictions with the general ised terrain-PE are in close agreement with those from an effective ba rrier model for a simple hill taken as a test case.
