INDUCTIVE LOGIC PROGRAMMING - A SURVEY OF EUROPEAN RESEARCH

Inductive logic programming (ILP) is a research area which has its roo ts in inductive machine learning and computational logic. The paper gi ves a survey of European research in this area. It first briefly intro duces the research field, then gives an overview of recent research re sults and directions and finally describes in more detail the research of some of the European institutions involved in ILP research within two European ILP projects: the ESPRIT III Basic Research Project No. 6 020 Inductive Logic Programming and the PECO'92 European Inductive Log ic Programming Scientific Network.
