L. Warzecha et M. Strozyk, THE COMPARISON OF ANALYSIS OF NITROGEN-COMPOUNDS USING HPLC AND CLASSICAL COLUMN CHROMATOGRAPHY, Chemia Analityczna, 40(2), 1995, pp. 143-152
Normal-phase HPLC has been applied in semi-preparative scale in order
to separate nitrocompounds and azaarenes fraction from the airborne pa
rticulate matter extract This procedure has been compared with methodo
logy comprising classical column chromatography and nitroarenes analys
is as their amide derivatives. It has been found that HPLC fractions s
eparated directly from the extract are very complex and their analysis
by GC-MS technique is more complicated than the analysis of nitro- an
d azaarenes concentrates obtained by classical column chromatography.
Fewer separate nitrogen compounds were identified in HPLC fractions th
an in concentrates of these compounds separated by the other method. I
n the extract of dusts collected in the region of Olkusz the following
compounds were identified: nitrofluorene, nitroarenes of M.W.=247, az
afluorene, acridine, quinoline, benzoquinolines, azapyrenes, benzacrid
ines. The concentrations of nitrogen compounds determined in HPLC frac
tions and nitro- and azaarenes concentrates are close to each other.
