The comparison of the calculated widths of He-9 with the measured ones
shows that: 1) the shell occupation in He-9 has a normal order (1/2(-
) - 1/2(+)) contrary to some shell model predictions of the parity inv
ersion; 2) strong core polarization in He-9 takes place which explains
the existence of narrow levels in He-9 and their absence in He-7.
