Abstract
The effect of a steady illumination by visible light and near UV radia tion on the electrochemical behavior of the lithium electrode in nonaq ueous electrolyte solutions was experimentally studied. It has been fo und that the effects observed are mainly associated with the heating o f the electrode surface. Under pulsed illumination, apart from heating currents, a fast photocurrent in the cathodic direction was detected.
