S. Sofue et K. Neki, AN INVESTIGATION OF THE REACTION BETWEEN NYLON-66 AND LICL BY HIGH-RESOLUTION SOLID-STATE NMR-SPECTROSCOPY, Kobunshi ronbunshu, 52(5), 1995, pp. 258-264
The interaction between nylon 66 and a mixture of lithium chloride and
dimethyl sulfoxide was studied by solid-state C-13 and Li-7 NMR spect
roscopy. A model compound was prepared from a homogeneous solution of
nylon 66, lithium choloride, and deuterated dimethyl sulfoxide or dime
thyl sulfoxide. Techniques used include magic angle spinning, cross-po
larization between H-1 and either C-13 or Li-7, and H-1 spin-diffusion
. It is thought that lithium chloride and the molecules of dimethyl su
lfoxide form a complex. Partial reaction between nylon 66 and the comp
lex was observed prior to heat treatment. It is shown that heat-treatm
ent increases the rate of this reaction.
