Abstract
We report on the generation of pulses as short as 3.1 ps from a flashl amp-pumped Nd:YLF laser by Ken lens mode-locking with auxiliary active mode-locking and electrooptic feedback control. Long pulse trains and stable operation make this device well suited as a pump laser for pul sed operation of synchronously pumped dye lasers or optical parametric oscillators.
