Abstract
Empirical correlations have been obtained for the permeability of hydr ocarbon gases and alcohols through polymers based on the molecular des criptors. The descriptors used are molecular connectivity, average mol ecular polarizability acid molecular weight. Good agreement is observe d between experimental and predicted values of permeabilty. The major advantage of the present study is that correlation can be obtained bas ed on the descriptors derived solely from the molecular structure of t he permeant.
