Dv. Bisikalo et al., STRUCTURE OF THE ACCRETION DISK IN BINARI ES WITH COMPONENTS THAT ARENOT FILLING THEIR ROCHE LOBE, ASTRONOM ZH, 72(2), 1995, pp. 190-202
Results of two-dimensional gas dynamic computations of accretion disk
structure in binaries with components not filling their Roche lobe are
presented. The assumed binary parameters are similar to characteristi
cs of symbiotic stars. Computer simulations reveal in these binaries a
round the compact component an accretion disk with dimensions 15 x 15
R.. It is shown that because of gas dynamic perturbation of the disk's
outer layer by flow of incoming gas a complicated structure of spiral
shock waves consisting of lagging and leading spirals is generated in
the disk. Possible mechanisms generating this structure are discussed
. Influence of spiral shock waves on efficiency of accretion is consid
ered.
