R. Gencosmanoglu et al., CONTRALATERAL RECTUS-ABDOMINIS MUSCLE FLAP COVERAGE FOR A RADIONECROTIC GROIN DEFECT, European journal of plastic surgery, 18(2-3), 1995, pp. 127-128
An inferiorly based contralateral rectus abdominis muscle flap was uti
lized to reconstruct an infected, radionecrotic wound in the groin. Th
e selection criteria for this particular flap are discussed, comparing
it to other reconstructive choices. It is believed that the contralat
eral rectus muscle flap is a good reconstructive choice, since its blo
od supply is distant to the site of the radiation-induced vascular ins
ufficiency.
